Our Programs

The TLC program encourages education in every area and the social "getting along" skills are also very important at TLC. The curriculum follows the PA Department of Public Welfare guidelines, the PA Department of Education guidelines, the Keystone Stars guidelines with Early Childhood Education and Infant and Toddler curriculum, and the PA Early learning Standards guidelines are also applied. It is referred to as a crosswalk including all educational values for the child.

Listed below the headings "TLC Childcare" and "TLC School Programs" are the specifics for each of these two programs offered by TLC.

TLC Childcare

Consistent Childcare Days - Plan 1
This childcare plan indicates the parent has consistent work days, and therefore, the days and the payment remains the same each week except that payment is not due for holidays, school closings, and summer schedules.

As Needed Childcare Days - Plan 2
The luxury childcare plan requires the parent to call TLC and give the days needed for the next week by Thursday of the previous week. Payment is due for days requested even if the child is not in attendance. TLC can not receive calls for care on Monday for the same week since the staff by that time has already been previously informed of their TLC work schedule. There is a minimum of two days of childcare required each week.

Fall – Winter – Spring Contract Days from September 1 to May 31
This is a set schedule of days requested for childcare upon the parent’s tour, application and agreement. This set schedule for your child requires consistent weekly payments. If parents choose to have a vacation during this fall-winter-spring contract, payment for the week is still due. Vacations are only honored during the summer months and a payment is not required for a vacation week during the summer months.

Summer Contracted Days from June 1 to August 31
This contract is not a set schedule. If parents do not need childcare over the summer, please inform the director and then indicate what day the child will be returning for the fall-winter-spring session. Parents are given a monthly attendance calendar, and the parents pick and choose what days are needed over the summer per month. During the summer months, parents choose the days they wish and pay for the days requested. Vacations days/weeks are honored for the TLC families.

TLC School Programs

School Curriculum
The School programs are designed using the Creative Curriculum Program, the PA Learning Standards and the Self Develop Program of Enrichment activities and experiences per the TLC director and Staff. The Creative Curriculum provides teachers with a clear and concrete way to apply child development and learning theories to their everyday work with children. The PA Learning Standards provide guidance for the development of programs’ continuum of learning. The standards are the framework from which practitioners assess children's learning and create classroom and individualized planning strategies that build from infancy and move through the early grades. The Self Develop Program is a blend of the best personal creative ideas from the director and the staff. TLC is blessed to have some truly creative members providing activities and experiences that have been invaluable to create an environment of enriching educational experiences that are stimulating, exciting and unique. TLC is a well organized program with clearly defined goals and objectives.

Children’s Chapel
Children’s Chapel is offered weekly with the pastor of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. This special program recognizes that God created families to love and take care of one another. The TLC children have been blessed since the beginning of the school year to be taught precious stories of our Lord and learn Jesus' teachings to love God and love others. The prayers that the children say with the pastor are endearing for our TLC children. Parents are invited to attend these lovely sessions with their child. We want to share the "Good News". Chapel is held Tuesdays for Preschool at 11:00 AM and for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten at 11:30 AM.

Music Program
TLC has a "sweet" Music program designed by the music teacher and the talented staff. During chapel the children are taught many beautiful Christian songs. After chapel the children practice seasonal and holiday songs. The children also practice songs for the December holiday show and the spring show. During these special performances, the children make props to complement their songs. Parents, relatives, extended family members, and best friends are certainly invited to attend these special performances.

School with Childcare
All information on the above Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten agreement applies which includes the days, school times, and snack fee. A minimum of three childcare days are required in order to receive a reduced school fee per month for nine months (Sept to May). Parents may request childcare for four and/or five days per week, and of course, payment of additional days would be required. The above information for school hours would be designated for the child, plus a lunch time and extended afternoon enrichment activities would be the plan. Parents provide lunch, and there are guidelines in the TLC Handbook.
